Roy Pope Memorial Park

Today we went to Roy Pope Memorial Park in Woodfin!

The park is located just beside Woodfin Elementary School and is open from 5AM - 10PM. No pets, bikes, or skateboards are allowed. It has lots to offer: 2 "castle" play structures, a covered sandbox, 4 "big kid" swings, 2 "baby swings", a special needs swing, a tire swing, a covered pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms, and though it wasn't on today, a water mister for hot days!

This portion of the park is dedicated in honor of Avery King, an Asheville native who was gunned down in a McDonald's in Covington, Georgia.

The smaller of the 2 castle structures

The area around the castles has some kind of blue, bouncy flooring so if kiddos take a tumble, it doesn't leave an owie.

The park has 4 "big kid" swings, 2 "baby swings", and a special needs swing. It also has an awesome climbing structure and a covered pavilion with picnic tables.

The swings and the climbing structure have mulch around them.

The pavilion has 7 picnic tables. A great place for a picnic lunch!

The restrooms and water fountain. Just visible in the left of the picture is the water mister for hot days. It wasn't on today :(

Another great adventure! Tate had so much fun and slept like a champ at nap time :)

Tomorrow's adventure will be at The Little Gym!
